Start MCPlayer. It will automatically search for all available UPNP servers and renderers in the media network. Select a media file from DMS and send it to available DMR. You can control the playback from Now Playing Tab.
The reasons could be:
– your device is not connected to a Wi-Fi network;
– your network connection is not stable or your router is not working properly;
– if the other device is not UPnP compliant, it cannot be discovered by MCPlayer;
– sometimes, it is necessary to turn off the firewall on your computer. Make sure you consult an IT professional before you make such changes to your machine.
Some video files cannot be played back on MCPlayer DMR
If a movie is purchased from iTunes you will not be able to play it or copy it because all iTunes movies are DRM protected. This is written in Apple’s Guidelines. Follow this link to know more
Why do I have 3rd party media players available on my list of players?
The 3rd party media players on your list of players appear depending on what type of a media file you choose. The media server provides content type information, and then the iOS system interprets it and selects a list of 3rd party players which support playback of the particular video file format.
Game consoles such as Xbox 360 and PS4 are used as media players, but not as media servers.You can read more by following a link. After XBOX or PS3 has been added to your media network through the Windows Media Center, it becomes available on MCPlayer in DMR List. Here is an article which explains how to connect your device with PS3 and DLNA Follow the steps written in this article than launch MCPlayer without any cables and it will work. Also, remember that PS3 and Xbox 360 are players not renderers.
How can I send media files from Win Media Player or any other Server to MCPlayer renderer?
If you are talking about the Device internal DMS, the storage of a device itself, it’s not available in this app. You are able to pick the files from the Servers, that you have (NAS, PC etc.). You need to choose a video you want to watch and then select the renderer (TV,Xbox, etc.) which has to be turned on and connected to the Internet. Select a media file from a list on your Win Media Player or other Server. Click the info icon in the upper right corner and choose “Play on” option, then choose MCPlayer DMR from the list of available renderers.
How long does it take to connect to a UPnP server?
MCPlayer should be able to find servers and renderers in the network within 1 minute providing that the network connection is running well and consistently and the Wi-Fi router is capable of transferring multicast data packages.
If you don’t have any server icons in the list: only the Documents and “Watch Later List”,
you will need to install a server program such as Serviio on your PC or laptop and allow access to the files you want. Just choose a folder where you have video files and it will work.
How to use Chromecast to send video on TV screen via iPhone, iPad with MCPlayer?
Have you installed and set up Chromecast on your TV? As if it doesn’t set up properly it won’t work with our app. To work properly, Chromecast must be on the same Wi-Fi network with the devices you are going to use.
You need to turn on Chromecast with a device where it is plugged in (TV for example), then choose a video file you want to play, tap on an info icon in the upper right corner of the file and there will be an ArkKast (this is Chromecast connected with our app and SDK ArkMC, that’s why it is called ArkKast). Also, if you have already named your Chromecast then this name will be displayed. Tap on a Chromecast from the Media Player’s list provided and enjoy streaming. If you are not able to see Chromecast in the Media Player’s list, try to restart all the devices and a Wi-Fi router, the problem can be in it. Check the cables of the connected devices.
How to stream video to Xbox or PS wirelessly with iPhone, iPad?

As long as you have a wireless network setup at home, an iOS/Android device and Xbox, you can use MCPlayer to wirelessly stream media to your TV set. It’s extremely simple, and can be done by following these few easy steps:
Step 1. Download MCPlayer (the free version works just fine), and launch it.
Step 2. Turn on your Xbox, and make sure both it and your iOS/Android device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Step 3. Your iDevice should pop up on your Xbox under the Video tabs, and you should be able to navigate through your content on either your Xbox or using the MCPlayer app.
Step 4. That’s it! Select which media you want to stream, kick back and enjoy.
If your device doesn’t populate in one of the above-mentioned tabs, navigate to Settings > Network Settings > Media Server Connection on your Xbox and make sure that it says “Enabled.” You can also manually search for media servers in the same menu.

> Select a Player > Choose a Media Player you want to use an HD TV or an Apple TV connected

What types of media files formats does MCPlayer support?
If it doesn’t work you can do the following:
-check if other UPnP devices are turned on and connected to the home network
– check if the device running MCPlayer is connected to home network
– try restarting MCPlayer, device running MCPlayer, other UPnP devices or even re-install an app
– check if something is available in Servers and Players tab
– also you can check if an LTE connection is on,turn it off and try again. There can be a problem with Network interface.
– write a letter to support indicating your problem, your device model and UPnP devices in your home network
Subtitles are supported and you can see them, but they depend on the video you are trying to play. If you are using our media player and there are subtitles in a video file than yes, you should see them. To turn on subtitles, at first, start streaming your movie, then open “Audio&Subtitles” (an icon looks like a message cloud) and choose necessary subtitles. These steps work only for one session. If you restart the movie or play another you should repeat these steps.
You have to install Chromecast on your TV. My TV doesn’t play media files I have tried to stream with MCPlayer
Check, please the specs of your TV. Does it support the formats you are trying to play and if it should do, then try to stream another video file in a different format, as a test. Then, try to restart all the devices and your Wi-Fi router – sometimes this may be the problem. There are technical issues with some Samsung TV models, a question of protocol matching. We are working to address these in later releases of our app..
Have downloaded the media files to the Documents, but can’t find them there.
Try not to lock a Device while downloading and you will see the progress bar on the screen. You need to stay online all the time and then look in your Download Folder for your files. You can find the lock settings here:

The video file is playing very slowly with crashes, like the bad quality video
A lot here depends on your device itself, for sure. If the video file is large ( 5GB for example), then older models of phones and tablets may simply not have sufficient processing power to play it.
1. Connect your PS and device to your Wi-Fi
DLNA operates over Wi-Fi, so it’s essential that the devices you want to connect are both using the same Wi-Fi network. If you have multiple wireless routers in your home, you’ll need to make sure that phone/tablet and PS are on the same network. Once you’re done, load up the MCPlayer Application.
2. Configure your PS for media sharing
Fire up your PS console and scroll across to Settings. Scroll down to Internet Settings, and then down to Media Server Connection. Make sure this is enabled — if it isn’t, your PS won’t be able to ‘see’ your phone/tablet.
3. Watching videos
Once the connection is established between your console and phone, the media on your phone/tablet becomes listed in the relevant section of the PS’s media bar. Scroll across to the Video section and expect to see your phone appear as one of the available folders. It should be listed as ‘[Mobile]’.
Once you open up the phone, you’ll be (confusingly) presented with folders for all of the available DLNA content — Video.
You’ll be presented with a long list of all the videos currently stored in the ‘Documentrs section’ of the application.
Clicking on a video will start streaming.
You can use the PS pad to pause, rewind and fast-forward through the film — just like a proper remote control — even though the actual footage is stored on your handset.
How to download movies on iPhone, iPad wirelessly from external digital storages with MCPlayer?
Turn on MCPlayer app > click on ‘Servers’ tab and select a server from the connected devices you want to use (the external servers )
> Select the video file you want to save from the folders presented, tap on ‘Download’ button in the bottom right corner of the file to start the process of downloading.
Try not to lock a device while downloading and you will see the progress bar on the screen, you can find the lock settings here Settings>General>Auto-Lock>change the time to lock.
You need to stay online all the time and wait until the downloading progress will be completed. Afterall navigate to the ‘Documents’ section in an application and they will be there (offline also).
